Martin Luther Moss (1843-1915) was a shirt manufacturer and local politician active in the Croydon area. The eldest son of the Rev. J Moss of Sittingbourne, Kent, he was born in Hertfordshire. By 1883 he was living in Croydon, where he gave his occupation as "master hosier". In that year he failed to be elected to the newly created Croydon Borough Council. In 1888 he was successful in gaining election to the Croydon School Board and by 1894 was a borough councillor, serving as Mayor of Croydon in 1896-97.
