Haukola Eagleclaw was a tauren warrior and temporary chief of his people during the Orcish Horde's escape to Kalimdor. Living a nomadic lifestyle, as was the way of the tauren, Haukola accompanied his father, the chief, through the Barrens for many years. When the bloodthirsty centaur began a campaign to conquer the tauren tribes, Chief Eagleclaw was slain at the battle of eagleclaw ridge and Haukola led the few survivors southwards towards the budding colony founded by Cairne Bloodhoof in Mulgore. Encountering warriors of the Horde on the journey, Haukola solidified an oath of friendship and vowed to stand by the orcs until death as payment for saving his people. Reaching Thunder Bluff at last, the remains of Haukola's tribe spread amongst the growing city to aid in the construction of a
