abstract	Brian Harper is a character that appeared in Cherry Hill. Whilst he was deceased before the show started, he has been mentioned many times before, he is the ex husband of Lydia Harper and the father of both Dana and Anthony. He was played by William Fichtner. It was noted very early in the first season of the show that Brian was no longer alive or with the Harper family, it was also mentioned he and Lydia had divorced before his death. However, it wasn't until the show's third season that he was named, it was discovered also that his death was no incident or natural cause. Brian had intercepted a fight between neighbor, Monica King (then Jones) and her ex husband, Tyrell Warner, who was angered that Monica wasn't allowing him to see his daughter. Ironically, Brian was also in the neighborhood trying to see his children, however the two fathers brawled up until Tyrell smashed his head against a rock killing him. Monica discovered the death and banished Tyrell from her life, with many believing the two split due to him hitting her. It was stated that the adrenaline rush that Tyrell felt fue to unleashing his venom caused by Monica, was the thing that drove him to start his campaign of terror, earning his name "The Hill Killer".
