The AT-DR Walker was created as a combined effort between Trang Robotics and Kuat Drive Yards. Trang Robotics had a client in the outer rim who wanted a larger fighting droid capable of taking out light vehicles and moving over rugged terrain. The company contacted Kuat Drive Yards, the making of the galaxies most successful walkers and began a collaboration. The two companies used standard AT-PT frames to test the addition of droid brains. Through trial and error they finally found a suitably durable and intelligent droid brain. Afterwards they began working on the frame. • The AT-DR Walker was created as a combined effort between Trang Robotics and Kuat Drive Yards. Because there was no need for spacious crew compartments extra armor was added to the chassis, two lasers capable of penetrating the armor on light vehicles mad up the main armerment requested by the client whereas the engineers seeing a wider use for the craft added a single rotary blaster canon. The walker itself was able to move at decent speeds, over most all terrain. It's brain possessed sophisticated tactical routines, which allowed them to reevaluate a combat situation regrouping and following through with a new plan as needed. In addition there was a control system in place allowing a local commander to give orders on the fly. Although the original client only ever ordered a few of these machines Darth Marduk saw the designs potential and ordered them as an addition to his ever increasing droid army on Almania. Since Darth Marduk's aliegance shift into Empress Sirena's Ranks these droids have made their way into the forces of the Sith Imperial Navy.
