Synopsis
| - Thor locks Loki up in a land that prevents the trickster from physically escaping, but Loki sidesteps this by taking a soul form. He then tracks down Thor, and finds him in his human form, Dr. Blake. Though Loki could easily take on and defeat Thor at his most vulnerable, he refuses on the basis that such a victory would be hollow, and goes to locate the Hulk.
Upon finding the Hulk, Loki creates an illusion of dynamite strapped to some nearby train tracks. Believing the illusion is real, the Hulk attempts to remove the explosives, but finds him breaking through the train tracks instead. He then scrambles to hold the tracks together and prevent the crash of an oncoming train; the conductor mistakes this for an attack on the train and its passengers, sparking another hunt for the Hulk.
Rick Jones sees the headline regarding the Hulk in the newspaper, and uses a radio signal to contact the Fantastic Four. Loki interferes with the signal and causes it to reach Thor instead; the message is also heard by Iron Man, the Wasp and Ant-Man. The heroes arrive at the home of Rick Jones, where Thor sees an illusion of Hulk outside the window; he takes the bait, and is brought to Asgard, where he finds and defeats Loki.
Meanwhile, the rest of the heroes chase the real Hulk to a circus, and then a tire factory; thankfully, Thor returns to Earth in time to prevent a fight between them. Loki then tries to escape by becoming a radioactive entity, but Ant-Man traps him in a lead container. The team finally decides to join forces, and name themselves the Avengers upon the Wasp's suggestion.
