- After the events of The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny, Herobrine took a spot in the Lower Counsel of Undefeatables to replace the recently defeated Godzilla.
- Herobrine (He-ro-brine) is the subject of a community made "creepy-pasta" (Creepy story). He is widely known to Minecraft fans. Other than in fan-made Mod content, Herobrine is not present in any official release of Minecraft.
- Herobrine was first reported by the BroCraft streamer Copeland. He was doing a typical let's play world, avoiding a work in progress room he had made to have Herobrine. At 20:45, he entered the room, saw "Herobrine" and ran out screaming. He later stated that he was going to delete the world to never see Herobrine again. Copeland disliked the fact that Patimuss did not believe in Herobrine.

- I had recently spawned a new world in single-player Minecraft. Everything was normal at first as I began chopping down trees and crafting a workbench. I noticed something move amongst the dense fog (I have a very slow computer so I have to play with a tiny render distance). I thought it was a cow, so I pursued it, hoping to grab some hides for armor. I haven't seen the mystery man since our first encounter, and I haven't noticed any changes to the world other than my own. I was able to press 'print screen' when I first saw him. - Dieser Mythos besagt, dass in Minecraft ein nicht spielbarer Charakter namens Herobrine existiert. Einige behaupten, er wird vom Geist eines verstorbenen Minenarbeiters gesteuert. Andere Quellen besagen, dass es sich hierbei um den verstorbenen Bruder vom Minecraft-Schöpfer Notch handelt. Sein Äußeres ähnelt dabei dem eigenen Charakter, jedoch hat Herobrine komplett weiße Augen. Es gibt mehrere Theorien, zum Verhalten zu Herobrine. Diese unterscheiden sich stark. Ob er friedlich ist oder dem Spieler schaden will, ist umstritten.

He was seemingly never added in the actual game but many players claim to see him haunting them, evolving into a sort of "Creepypasta." He is popular with the Minecraft community in the fact of his creepy and rather disturbing presence, causing havoc on the player in some cases (especially in dreams, usually saying "WAKE UP").
