One day he was traveling to the Andropodia Uplands via the tower leading to the floating land. While he was climbing the tower, it collapsed during an earthquake, killing many people. Matt survived, but was trapped inside, he soon ran out of food and died. His angry spirit haunted the tower, bound there forever. In revenge he tried to kill any adventurers that entered the ruins of the tower. Alexander was forced to fight him, him to save himself. After defeating Matt, Alexander received the flying crowbar.

If Alexander loses the battle, Matt's spirit says revenge tastes sweet, and appears to feast on his body.
