| - The Land of the Vori is the second scenario in The Sword of Frost, the eighth part of Heroes Chronicles. When Tarnum arrived in Vori, he found the Vori elves waiting for him. Since Gelu was half-Vori, they considered him one of their own, and were trying to stop Tarnum from following him. He needed to defeat them to reach the Sword of Frost first. As Tarnum marched against his foes, he was suddenly shot by one of his own medusas. The creature wanted to kill him and take control of his army, but he was saved by three beholders - Neez, Zarm, and Kilkik. The three hoped that if they sided with Tarnum, he would reward them handsomely, so he made them his personal guards and advisors, and leaders of the army. Since they would now keep watch for him, Tarnum knew that the only people he needed to worry about were the three bodyguards. The beholders usually ignored him when he pretended to be insane by declaring war on a tree and ordering half his army to attack it. Neez learned that the treacherous medusa that they had slain, had ten hatchlings that were plotting against them. Tarnum and the beholders ambushed the medusas, and while Zarm died in the battle, so did the medusas. After defeating the Vori defenders, Tarnum could finally follow Gelu.
