The Avias Worms are the children of mature Avias, however, the Worms are not children in the tradition sense. The Avias do not have a gender, despite being considered and portrayed by the media as an all-male species, and reproduce through clonal fragmentation. The Worms grow out of a mature's Avias's head but can sometimes be develop out of the creatures neck and back. When the Worms are fully developed, they are violently ripped from the mature Avias and placed in a maturation pod to accelerate the Worms growth. However, the Avias do not need to be in a maturation pod to grow but it takes longer for the Avias to develop.

| - The Avias Worms are the children of mature Avias, however, the Worms are not children in the tradition sense. As they reproduce via clonal fragmentation, all Avias are one and the same. The first Avias, which now is referred to as The First was created by Theos, a Forerunner scientist before the activation of the Halo Array. Although each Worm has the same knowledge and intelligence as the mature Avias it grew on, some knowledge is lost over the ages such as the true origins of the Avias, which is now embroiled in myth and legend.
