| - Metroid Fusion is a video game released for the Game Boy Advance that was released in 2002 and 2003. It is the fourth game (last chronologically) made for the Metroid series. It is the first Metroid game for the Game Boy Advance, and the second for a handheld. It is a sidescroller shooter, and can be connected to the GameCube game Metroid Prime for extras.
- Fusion made its first contest appearance in 2010's Game of the Decade contest. Its first poll was Day Three of the vote-ins, where it finished third (behind God of War II and Resident Evil 5); as a result, it received a 14-seed, the highest a vote-in game could receive. After that, it lost in Round One to Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum, though it managed to garner a surprisingly high percentage of the votes (nearly 45%)!

Fusion é diferente dos outros jogos da série, por conta do personagem não-jogável Adam, um coputador que indica o caminho a Samus, e o que se deve fazer, fazendo assim a sequence breaking mais difícil, e a exploração dos mapas quase impossível.

Der Untertitel Fusion bezieht sich dabei darauf, dass Samus in diesem Spiel eine gezwungene Fusion mit Metroid-DNS eingeht. Sie bekommt ein auf Metroid-Basis hergestelltes Serum verabreicht, da sie von sogenannten X, einer enorm bedrohlichen amöben Lebensform, infiziert wird. Durch diesen Vorfall übernahm Samus einige Fähigkeiten und Schwächen der Metroids und ist deshalb in der Lage die X zu absorbieren. Die Überreste ihres kontaminierten Power Suit passten sich diesen Umständen ebenfalls an und wurden zum Fusion Suit.

Le jeu est sorti le 22 novembre 2002 en Europe et le 14 février 2003 au Japon. Il est également disponible en téléchargement via la Wii U Virtual Console depuis le 3 avril 2014 en Europe. Il marque aux côtés de Metroid Prime le retour de la série après huit ans d'absence.
