Bannockburn is on the outskirts of the Scottish city of Stirling. The area contains most necessary amenities, including a library, bank and local shops. It is served by Bannockburn Primary School, in the centre of the community, and Bannockburn High School in nearby Broomridge. Several new private housing schemes have been built in and around Bannockburn since the 1990s, increasing pressure on the already-overcrowded high school but also bringing a more middle-class population to the area. There is a high amount of youth related crime in the area, mostly from youths travelling up from nearby Hillpark to congregate in the main street.

Major conflicts have taken place in Bannockburn. These include the battles between Black Fire and Helghast in the First Gridwide War, the battle between New Rome and British Military in the aftermath of the Second Gridwide War and beginning of the Third Gridwide War, and battles between Black Talon and Righteous Iron Fist during the aftermath of the Thrd Gridwide War. Bannockburn is currently the home-simulator of Army of the Sith Republic.
