The Boston Paddies are a Major League Baseball franchise operating in Boston, Massachusetts, and play in the Eastern Division of the American League. The Paddies are a storied franchise and hold the fourth-most World Series pennants at 11 (after New York, Pittsburgh and Yorktown). The Paddies were at their prime in the 1970s, when they won four straight World Series from 1971-74 as well as three more in 1977, 1978 and 1980, leaving them an unprecedented dynasty of seven pennants in ten years. Dozens of legendary players were on the rosters of the 1970's Paddy teams, and the 1973 Boston bullpen is regarded as one of the best baseball teams ever assembled in history.
