The National Armed Forces, also called the Coalition Armed Forces, was the unified military of the Galactic National Coalition. It was made up of four branches: the National Army, National Navy, National Air Force, and National Marine Corps. It also had three independent services: Military Police, Military Intelligence, and the Missiles Agency. Each branch was led by a chief of staff, and each service was led by a director. It was made up of four branches: the National Army, National Navy, National Air Force, and National Marine Corps. It also had three independent services: Military Police, Military Intelligence, and the Missiles Agency. Each branch was led by a chief of staff, and each service was led by a director. All branches and services coordinated closely. It was overall commanded by the president, who was the supreme commander. During the Unification Wars, starting in 25,060 BBY, the Armed Forces carried out offensives against other factions, most notably the Askajian Empire. The National Armed Forces were noted to have the most advanced technology out of the factions taking part. When the war ended in 25,053 BBY and the Galactic Republic was formed, the new Galactic Senate was based on the Coalition one.
