Shitsu Nakano (中野 シツ Nakano Shitsu?, January 1, 1894 – August 19, 2007) was a verified Japanese supercentenarian. She was the fourth-oldest verified living person in the world and the oldest living person in Japan, following the death of the then oldest living recognized person Yone Minagawa six days earlier. She died of natural causes in a home for the elderly in Ogōri, Fukuoka Prefecture. She had eight children, 22 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. After her death, fellow 113-year-old Tsuneyo Toyonaga became the oldest living person in Japan.
