Zagor's series is still published after 50 years. He is one of the most famous Tarzan-inspired characters from Italy. His stories feature a variety of ideas, themes, characters and situations. Many genres are found in these stories: western, fantasy and science fiction, above all. He is thought to be a supernatural entity by Native Americans, who call him "Spirito con la Scure" (Spirit with Hatchet). Zagor lives with his friend Cico (pronounced Chico) in the imaginary forest of Darkwood, in 19th western United States, inside a hut protected by quicksand and swamps. He is the ultimate protector of the forest and of Native Americans and bears an Indian hatchet (fitted with a round stone) and a gun as weapons.

Zagor warned Seven to keep an eye on young Khan Noonien Singh and others like him, as well as detect any attempts to interfere with the timeline. (TOS - Strange New Worlds 10 short story: "Time Line") While he does describe his people, it would seem that he was a member of the Aegis, even though his race was not stated. It is also possible that he could have been from another race who was in the same position as Gary Seven, working for the Aegis.
