1991 is known as the good old days when life was simpler. Back then, nobody mistrusted fossil fuels or doubted the reliability of their local electricity grid. Global warming was not that much of an issue and people who live in Minnesota or the upper mid west of the USA will remember The Halloween Blizzard. Employment was seen as just another step in the evolution of their lives and marriage was seen as a passage of rite that couldn't be bypassed either through cohabilitation or the common law lifestyle. Of course, marriage was restricted to heterosexual couples back in 1991.
