Ashla was a word used by the scholars that first studied the Force on the planet Tython. Ashla was the name for the light side of the Force. The dark side of the Force was called "Bogan." After years of studying the Force, a war broke out between the Ashla users and the Bogan users called the Force Wars. The Ashla users won the war and the Bogan users were thought to be extinct. Eventually, the Ashla users would become known as the Jedi and would relocate from Tython to Coruscant, swearing allegiance to defend the Republic.
