Der Freund und Verwalter von Edward, Reginald Birch, nahm sich Haytham an und bildete ihn aus. Birch, der ein Templer war, log Haytham vor, dass sein Vater zwar nicht selbst ein Templer war, aber dafür ein Unterstützer ihrer Sache. Haytham glaubte Birch und wurde sein gelehriger Schüler.

Figlio dell'Assassino Edward Kenway, Haytham perse il padre all'età di 10 anni durante un attacco alla loro abitazione. Il giovane venne poi avvicinato da Reginald Birch, che in seguito lo introdusse nell'Ordine Templare. Tra il 1744 e il 1753, Haytham agì in tutta Europa, partecipando anche all'assedio di Bergen op Zoom, in Olanda, al fianco di Edward Braddock

Zachęcano go również do własnego myślenia i wyrażania swojej opinii. Haytham był kształcony w domu przez "starego" pana Faylinga i nie wolno było mu rozmawiać z dziećmi, które mieszkały obok, choć nie raz udało mu się porozmawiać z sąsiadem w jego wieku – Tomem Barrettem.

Kenway (December 4, 1725 - September 16, 1781, age 55 at death) is the main antagonist of Assassin's Creed III, Grand Master of the Colonial Templars and the father of Ratonhnhaké:ton, also known as Connor, the game's protagonist. He is also an antagonist-turned anti-hero in the game's later parts. He is also the main protagonist of the Assassin's Creed III novelization Assassin's Creed: Forsaken and the tritagonist in the game Assassin's Creed: Rogue, where you play as the Templar Shay Cormac.
- Haytham E. Kenway (1725 – 1781) was the first Grand Master of the Templar Order's Colonial Rite, reigning from 1754 until his death in 1781, whereupon he was succeeded by Charles Lee. Son of the pirate Assassin Edward Kenway, Haytham was converted to the Templar cause at a young age by Reginald Birch, following his father's death in 1735. During this time, he unknowingly sired a son – Ratonhnhaké:ton – with Kaniehtí:io, a Kanien'kehá:ka woman whom he had met during his initial quest for the storehouse. He is an ancestor to Desmond Miles, through the paternal line.
