John Pennington wrote 19 episodes of Coronation Street between May 1961 and September 1964 and then wrote some of the earliest episode of Crossroads immediately afterwards. He embarked again on scripting for soap opera nearly two decades later when he penned episodes of the short-lived BBC serial Eldorado. His other credits include episodes of The Brothers, Dr. Finlay's Casebook, The Revenue Men and The Experts on which he was also the series script editor for the 1969 season.
