- Chaos Control is an ability used to control chaos energy and use it for various things. Chaos Control can be strengthen by the number Chaos Emeralds the user has. This is the signature technique of both the first and second Shadow the Hedgehog.
- In the universe of Sonic, Chaos Control is a power in which one can warp time and space with the mystical Chaos Emeralds, and first utilized by Shadow the Hedgehog during the events of Sonic Adventure 2. Chaos Control is also considered to be related to other general effects brought about through use of the Chaos Emeralds.

When used at the same time by two or more people, Chaos Control can open a rift in time, allowing actual time travel.

Shadow eventually used Chaos Control to teleport away to search for Rouge the Bat after refusing to aid Sonic the Hedgehog, Mega Man, Rush, and Miles "Tails" Prower when restored to his original state. As a result, Sonic and Mega Man regained memories of their lives prior to the Genesis Wave (Specifically, their fights with Mecha Sally and Break Man, respectively), with the former also explaining what a Gene
