The Order of Remembrance was an honor bestowed upon heroic civilians in the United States. Nellie Semphroch was decorated with the Order of Remembrance, First Class for her work as a US spy in Washington, DC during the Great War. Her daughter Edna was honored with the Order of Remembrance, Second Class, though she had done very little to help the US war effort, and had nearly married a Confederate soldier.
