Commishioned in 2509 at the Mars Shipyards in the Sol System, the Metal Sovreign was the sister ship of the Royal Sovreign, the flaghsip of UNSC Admiral Peterson's strike fleet. For years the Metal Sovreign was under command of an unknown officer, and was put into backwater assingment of partolling the outer colonies for pirates. However, once the Covenant came, the need for officer's grew, so the Sovreign was sent to orbit around Mars and had its crew stripped from it. For nearly 20 years it wallowed in orbit around Mars, and steadily deteriorated. However, on October 15th, 2540, it was recommishioned and modified to serve as the flagship of the newly formed Terran Taskforce. It was placed under command of newly promoted Admiral George A.
