The Swamp Cave is located in the swamp outside of the Two Rivers village. You venture there in search of Dawn Star, who had been kidnapped by Gao the Lesser.

- There is also what appears to be a burial chamber with a vran's sarcophogus surrounded by large obelisks that flank a path leading down to the Circle of Hanging Stones, a circle of elements for the sign Quen. The sarcophagus contains one of the sephirah as well as a nice axe.
- Once located in a swamp south-east of Cove, the Swamp Cave was true to its name. The cave was a disgusting, foul hole filled with masses of vermin and swampy ground that invited the worst poison and illnesses to befall the adventurer. However, rumors say that on its lowest levels, a mage died with a valuable Storm Cloak in his possession. After Ultima VI, the swamp dried out and the cave vanished together with it.
- Swamp Cave is a dungeon which connects north and south eastern Alefgard. The dungeon has 1 entrance on each continent. It is one of only a few places which is accessible in the original Dragon Quest trilogy.
