Should the contributions boxes be changed to say something like: "This represents xx,000 edits made by this user to to the FFXIclopedia"? So people could add them together? For example I am now at 25k. I could change the text of gold but that seems unfair. I could suck it up and not do anything. Which is acceptable. Or we can edit the language as above. Just thinking out loud. This would mean people who have less than 5k could have up to 4 bronze boxes and people with less than 20k could in theory have up to 3 silver and 4 bronze boxes. More often than not wouldn't matter - just trying to make this scalable. --Gahoo 14:25, 21 August 2006 (EDT)

Do we want the medals as milestones? Or do we want it as a tally? If its a milestone thing, then we should just keep it the way it is. If we wanted a tally, couldn't we just have a single userbox that kept that number? A tally is kind of situational though, since the people that would want them are probably people who have tons of edits, and who make lots of edits all the time, so they'd be constantly updating that box. I think I like it the way it is, as each block is a milestone. I know I'm around 15k in edits, and I'll feel alot more accomplished if I make it from the 5k box to the 20k box, than if I counted all the way. I guess its kind of a preference thing. --Chrisjander 13:13, 23 August 2006 (EDT) That makes sense. I just feel lonely knowing I have no more milestones. I guess I can made a 50k one to look forward to. --Gahoo 13:41, 23 August 2006 (EDT) Heh, that's the next I'd think of. But what icon will you use? Gold is already used for 20k. --Chrisjander 13:50, 23 August 2006 (EDT) Gold should probably be 25k but I can't do that to ya. I have no idea what color/icon should be used for 50k. Who knows when someone will even reach the mark. --Gahoo 14:17, 23 August 2006 (EDT) I always thought it was strange to use images of the medals given out during the 27th Olympics for these userboxes. I would propose using the goldsmithing ingots for these instead. In order from less to more: Copper Ingot-> Brass Ingot-> Silver Ingot-> Mythril Ingot-> Aluminum Ingot-> Gold Ingot-> Platinum Ingot-> Orichalcum Ingot I think the Ingots is a good idea and I do agree - it should be a 25K edits rather than a 20K for Gold. Unfortunately if you did that you couldnt fit that many awards in between - should be:: 1, 5, 10, 20, 25, 50, 75, 100 ??? Maybe if you used the Ingots above as exampes instead... Nynaeve I think this is a fine idea. Of course O-ongot looks identical to Silver :( --Gahoo 14:53, 23 August 2006 (EDT) Maybe there's something better than ingots... perhaps there are other items out there that would suffice. Ancient currency has a nice look to it, lots of different colors there, and then when those colors run out, maybe some other things. Ingots just seem so dull. --Chrisjander 15:04, 23 August 2006 (EDT) Crystals? Earth->Water->Wind->Ice->Lightning->Fire->Dark->Light --Gahoo 15:36, 23 August 2006 (EDT) Or maybe beastment coins? --Pinkfae 15:38, 23 August 2006 (EDT) Beastcoin -> Silver Beastcoin -> Mythril Beastcoin -> Gold Beastcoin -> Platinum Beastcoin -> Ancient Beastcoin ? That won't work either, the Gold and the Ancient look alike. >.< Could end it at Platinum maybe? --Gahoo 15:47, 23 August 2006 (EDT) Yeah, we could. Or SE could make the Ancient look like it has a diamond in the center. Maybe best is to skip gold and have "ancient" icon be last in series. --Gahoo 15:52, 23 August 2006 (EDT) I was iffy about it before, but now that I see them, I like em. --Chrisjander 15:59, 23 August 2006 (EDT) Looks good ^^ --Pinkfae 15:59, 23 August 2006 (EDT) I still would like to see the beastman seals, the gold beastcoins and the Ancient beastcoins to look different from each other. --Pinkfae 16:07, 23 August 2006 (EDT) Colors and levels ok? --Gahoo 16:25, 23 August 2006 (EDT) I'm on IE and can't see a difference between the bg color of silver and plat. --Chrisjander 16:28, 23 August 2006 (EDT) I like the way the test ones look - they look good. ^^ --Nynaeve 16:30, 23 August 2006 (EDT) The coded color is different, but IE is generally terrible when it comes to colors. According to IE, "grey" is a light green and "gray" is gray. --Chrisjander 16:33, 23 August 2006 (EDT) How's that? --Gahoo 16:34, 23 August 2006 (EDT) My only suggestion is to get higher quality icons for the coins. --Enfield 16:39, 23 August 2006 (EDT) If someone can upload better ones that'd be great. I just photoshopped what was on the wiki. --Gahoo 16:40, 23 August 2006 (EDT) Ah, I see the blue now, perfect. --Chrisjander 16:40, 23 August 2006 (EDT) Hello, was just browsing around the userbox templates, and saw this. Very cute idea with the beastcoins. But, shouldn't platinum be higher than gold? As it is, it doesn't quite correspond to the in-game tier of coins. --Briela 14:47, 12 October 2006 (EDT) Techincally there is no gold. The final entry is an ancient beastcoin. --Gahoo 14:56, 12 October 2006 (EDT) Thanks everyone. I think this was a great addition/improvment and a great team effort. --Gahoo 16:42, 23 August 2006 (EDT) Awww, now I have around 10k more edits to the next one ;) --Chrisjander 16:44, 23 August 2006 (EDT) I think the gold beastcoin/beastmen's seal/ancient beastcoin should be used for 25,000 edits and the platinum should be used for 50,000. Then a Kindred's seal should be used for 75,000/100,000 edits. Perhaps we can even add Imperial currency? :P --Jopasopa 22:12, 4 September 2006 (EDT)
