Fireteam Theta is a unit of SPARTAN-III supersoldiers serving in the years during and following the Human-Covenant War. Though their main purpose is for infiltration and special operations, Theta Team have been called in to lead a squad of marines or ODST's from time to time. Formed from a specific selection of candidates from Alpha and Beta Companies, Theta Team became a force to be reckoned when facing the Covenant.

- In 2016, a Theta Team dispatched by Abstergo Canada rescued Álvaro Gramática from an Assassin assault, but failed to prevent saving his assistants and his lab from getting destroyed, and most importantly in securing the fourth Spear of Eden. Following this, Alan Rikkin sent the team to train with Abstergo's best; to make them more competent.

The team was specially programmed to remove all the humanity in them, but something went wrong, leaving the team extremely ruthless with Daniel being a sociopath while Jack, Teal'c and Carter were psychopaths only interested in their own survival. They began traveling to different worlds so their Samantha Carter could produce a permanent power source as opposed to the limited duration temporary power source embedded in their chests.
