  • D&D departs from traditional war gaming and assigns each player a specific character to play instead of a military formation. These characters embark upon imaginary adventures within a fantasy setting. A Dungeon Master serves as the game's referee and storyteller, while also maintaining the setting in which the adventures occur and playing the role of the inhabitants. The characters form a party that interacts with the setting's inhabitants (and each other). Together they solve dilemmas, engage in battles, and gather treasure and knowledge. In the process the characters earn experience points to become increasingly powerful over a series of sessions.
  • Dungeons and Dragons: The Players Revolt was a game designed and hosted by Glycereine based on the Dungeons & Dragons RPG. Both Yuli and Araver contributed with roles during the design phase. It began on March 9th, 2011 and ended in a Goodie win in D5 (March 20th, 2011).
  • Dungeons & Dragons (abbreviated as D&D, DnD, or AD&D for the advanced edition) is a fantasy tabletop roleplaying game (RPG) published by Wizards of the Coast. The original Dungeons & Dragons, designed by Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson, was first published in January 1974 by Gygax's company, Tactical Studies Rules (TSR). Originally derived from tabletop wargames, this publication is generally regarded as the beginning of modern roleplaying games and, by extension, the roleplaying game industry. The game also achieved minor notoriety, particularly in the 1980s, due to exploitation of its imagery by many fundamentalists for the purpose of scaring parents of players; they alleged that the game promoted, among other things, devil worship, witchcraft, suicide, and murder.
  • Dungeons and Dragons (also known as D&D) is a role-playing game. It consists of a dungeon master and roughly four to six players. The dungeon master arranges the game beforehand, determining where they are and what could happen if the players take various decisions. During gameplay, the players assume the roles of fictional characters from monks to knights to bards (quite useless characters, those bards). The dungeon master takes on the roles of the opponents bystanders and potential allies that the players meet, and has the players take part in multiple tests, and the story line develops as the players take decisions in the context of the world that the Dungeon master depicts for them. Unlike most other games, Dungeons and Dragons works best if the characters cooperate and work as a team
  • Errr... no, that's really not right. A better description would be a cross between Cowboys and Indians and a game of craps. Errr... actually, that's not right either. It's really more like a cross between Sleeping Grump and Battleship. Errr... actually, that's not really a good description either. Maybe the best way to describe D&D is that it's like an SCA event where you never need to leave your house, or even get up out of your chair (except to get the occasional fresh bag of Cheetos).

  • NC: Hello, I'm the Nostalgia Critic. I remember it so you don't have to. Guys...you are in for a treat. This is one of those special, special films that only comes around once in a while. A film that should make me angry to my BOILING POINT, but is just so awful, it's pretty much wonderful. It is a wonderful movie. I'm so anxious to get to it, I don't even wanna waste any time! So...this is Dungeons and Dragons! Max Bialystock (from 1968's The Producers): Where did I go right? NC: Get ready to slap your head in confusion until it goes numb, this is Dungeons and Dragons. NC: Already I'm confused.
