Blizzard Watch is a popular blog and news site about World of Warcraft. It is a continuation of a previous site known as WoW Insider, which shut down in February 2015 because of budget issues with Joystiq. Several of WoW Insider's popular bloggers moved over to Blizzard Watch. This transition was spear-headed by Wow-insider's Editor-in-Chief, Alex Ziebart, and made possible through donations via Patreon. In mid-2017, forums and Discord chat were added and Alex decided to focus more on fiction writing and stepped away from his role as Editor-in-Chief.
