A character's Primary profession is the first profession chosen when creating a character in Guild Wars. Primary professions cannot be changed (unlike secondary professions). To play as another profession will require making a new character. The only differences between professions are the following:

The only differences between professions are the following: * The Armor a character can wear depends solely on their primary profession. * You can only use runes from your primary profession. * Your primary profession determines your character's appearance and emotes. For instance, male warriors have bulging muscles and dance like John Travolta in Pulp Fiction. * Each profession has a primary attribute. Choosing a particular profession as primary means you can increase the level of that attribute (though you can still use skills of that attribute even if it is your secondary profession).
