The Battle of Bandomeer was a major battle fought between the remnants of the Empire and the infant New Republic just four months after the Fall of Coruscant. The battle would culminate in a major Imperial set-back and would lead directly into the Second Battle of Coruscant, which would see the defeat of Warlord Tagger's Emperor's Pride Fleet and the virtual collapse of the Empire.

| - The Battle of Bandomeer was a battle in the Bothan War. This battle was the first battle to feature the Mandalorians, who had just announced their alliance with the Core Systems Alliance. Mandalorian forces were overwhelmed by the Muun forces fighting for Darth Naarin. Despite a brave effort by those defending the planet, it fell to the Muuns. One interesting note about the battle was that Naarin's invasion of Mandalorian Space was executed without the approval of Muun Federation leaders. However, after the battle, they agreed to support the campaign. Naarin and Torrent launched the attack to build support for them in the eyes of the Muun military. The goal was to get enough support so that when the time came to usurp the current Muun government, the military would be behind them and not the leaders that had been replaced.

Separate from Operation: Dissection entirely, Bandomeer was to be the first Xen'Chi-controlled planet that the Mandalorians would conquer, instead of simply eradicate Xen'Chi presence from. Mandalore Cadden Blackthorne devised a strategy to take any fighters capable after Bandomeer was to be liberated, and turn them into Mandalorian Warriors in an intense, short training regimen. Thus, the end of the Battle of Bandomeer marked the beginning of a new wave of Mandalorians, and the initiation of the Mandalorians' Operation: Hammerfall.
