The Epsilon Silar system was an uninhabited star system. In 2368, the Satarrans lured the USS Enterprise-D to the system with a series of subspace signals which seemed to indicate the presence of intelligent life in the system. Once the Enterprise was in the system, a Satarran starship seized control of the Federation starship and purged the crew of their memories. All this was for the purpose of manipulating the crew to fight for the Satarrans in their war against the Lysian Alliance. (TNG: "Conundrum" )
