The Indiam Empire was founded during the Great Panic. During this time the Roman Empire and the Sinican Empire, both of which border India but which at that time had been cut off from Indian trade, had sent a lot of money and weapons to subversive indian groups to try to get them to open up trade in India by causing a government overthrow. This became known as the Indian Civil War and during this time the Roman supported northwest, the Sinican supported Northeast, and the independent Buddhist south would all rise up at the same time for the same purpose, to provide religious freedom and free trade for Indians. At the time the Indians did not know that the Great Panic had happened and believed that trade was as booming as it was just before the Great Panic.

| - The Indiam Empire was founded during the Great Panic. The three sides eventually converged of the Samraat Harischandra XIV, last of the Maurya, and established a new country. Though free trade was indeed encouraged, the Indians felt a sour taste in their mouths because not only had Sinica and Rome lent weapons to the revolutionaries, but they also sold weapons to the Maurya. Until it was clear that the Maurya would lose the war, the foreign weapons manufacturers supported both sides and the new government was partially upset. Because of this, India invested in making its own industries and levied moderate protective tariffs. The Indian Civil War and the money that was made from weapons sales is often traced as one of the major causes for the end of the Great Panic, as money began to circulate through the world markets again. Indian religious freedom is markedly different from the religious intolerance that characterized the Maurya. The Maurya would crush Buddhists at the sight but the new India not only invited Buddhists but also religions from Asia, Africa, and Rome.
