The "Sign of Freedom" was the hooded alias of (at least) two different men who served as the leaders of an underground resistance movement in Nazi Germany during WW2. The first man known to possess this title was Otto Von Bergner, who was shot dead by the Gestapo after stolen foodstuffs bearing the Sign of Freedom's mark were discovered in his basement.
