Earl Halliday was a pilot for Pan-Continental and Rayford Steele's superior. In "Tribulation Force", he reprimanded Rayford for his proselytizing on the job, and was pushing for Rayford to accept the job as the new pilot for Air Force One. In "Nicolae", it was revealed that he was responsible for the building of the Condor 216, the replacement executive plane for Nicolae Carpathia, though he purposely bugged it with a "reverse intercom" system that allowed the pilot through his headphones to hear everything that the speakers doubling as transmitters were picking up. He was later killed in the air while trying to travel back to Chicago. He was survived by a wife who could never forgive Rayford Steele for what had happened to Earl.
