Though the Turtles wear disguises when they come to see her, Dr. Jane knows and accepts that they are mutants. Oddly enough, she does not believe the Turtles are able to communicate with and/or understand non-mutated animals. Michelangelo was initially involved with Goodfellow because of Pete, a pigeon he was nursing back to health with the aid of the good veterinarian. After Leonardo, Donatello and Raphael are captured by Dr. Lesseau, Dr. Goodfellow, together with Pete, aids Michelangelo in saving his fellow turtles.
