The 2024 Canadian County, Oklahoma tornado was an extremely violent, long-tracked and deadly EF5 multiple-vortex tornado that cut a 102-mile path through Central Oklahoma in the evening of May 31, 2024. The tornado's greatest damage occurred in and near an industrial area between the cities of El Reno and Piedmont, where the majority of fatalities occurred. The tornado was the deadliest of the May 2024 Super Outbreak as well as the fourth-costliest tornado on record, and remained on the ground for the longest duration of any known (see footnote) tornado in the United States.
