  • Greatsword is a type of weapon in Fable and Fable: The Lost Chapters. They are larger than regular longswords and are thus stronger, but also slightly slower. They also require training in strength to use properly.

While common Greatswords, Longswords, usually were between 90 cm and 120 cm, outsized specimens such as the Bidenhander could reach a length up to 180 centimetres. The Executioner's sword also was an outsized type with a total length of up to 110 cm, but it#s blade usually wasn't longer than 80 or 90 cm, like those of the more common long swords.
  • This is the standard greatsword in Dragon Age: Origins.
  • The greatsword is found by killing Great Knights but it is a rare drop. It needs 70 Attack and 60 Strength to wield. It is a two-handed weapon and can hit up to 79+.

  • The Greatsword is an artifact from Heroes of Might and Magic IV, giving heroes +13 melee Attack. It uses both hand slots. The Greatsword is a wonderful item, greatly enhancing a hero's ability to damage. Due to it's early game nature, a Greatsword can easily double the damage output of a fighter, since heroes start with low Attack ratings. It's downside is the fact that wielding a Greatsword uses both the Right and the Left Hand slots, making it impossible to a hero to wear a shield in the same time (shields can only be worn in the Left Hand slot). Besides, it's pricey too.
  • A greatsword is a heavy melee weapon that uses the Might stat pool.
  • Each level of enchantment on a greatsword adds +4 attack to a maximum total of +40 attack at +10 (+60 at +15). For more information on enchanting, see the Enchant page.
  • The greatsword is an impressive weapon by any measure, and is held with two hands by all but the largest of creatures. The greatsword mold requires 2 metal ingot. For the properties of exotic metals, see the Materials page.
  • Greatswords are two-handed weapons that tend to slightly higher speed and slightly lower damage than greataxes and greatclubs.
  • Ardents, avengers, barbarians, battleminds, fighters, paladins, rangers, wardens, and warlords are proficient with all military melee weapons, including the greatsword. Assassins and swordmages are proficient with military heavy blades, including the greatsword. Other classes do not have proficiency with the greatsword as a class trait, but any character can become proficient by taking a Weapon Proficiency feat.
  • The Greatsword is the twenty-first and final weapon in the Sword Class. It can be found beginning on Level 64 of the Dungeon. Merchants will sell it beginning at Level 20. It has a value of 23000 and a rarity of 928. Attack radius is 8; strike radius is 10. It takes up 3 x 1 inventory space. The artifact version of the Greatsword is The Vanguard.
  • The greatsword is the largest member of the sword family requiring two hands to wield. The hilt is elongated to accommodate the extra grip and the blade is doubled-edged. Some versions have parrying hooks (Parierhaken) on the blade about 4-8in (10-20cm) away from the guard. The blade is dull between the parrying hooks and the guard so it can be gripped there. An average greatsword costs 50gp and weighs 8lbs (3.6kg).
  • The slavers from the jungles of Chult often rely on underhanded techniques to keep their slaves in line. When a particularly difficult slave is caught attempting to escape, he will sometimes be kept in line by poisoning him, just enough to make him sick. The slavers then show the slave the antidote and force his cooperation. Most of these slavers allow their guards to carry weapons coated in the vile substance, for quick punishment or weakening an attacker. * Enhancement bonus: +1 * On-hit: Poison (1d2 constitution damage) (DC=14) * Required level: 10
