abstract
| - The Delivery-class freighter was a spacecraft made by Galactic Shipyards company used by civilians, merchant companies and private transporters, smugglers, pirates, the Galactic Federation of Sentient Species and the following governments, the Coruscant Republic, the N'Akkiarlian Star Empire also used small numbers during the war. The Delivery-class was first released in 877 ABY and quickly became a favourite of civilian merchant companies and independent merchants, smugglers and pirates due to it being easy to modify and very realiable, though at 60,000 credits new it wasn't the cheapest freighter out there, but very rarely broke down, some models had lasted 100 years of work without breaking down once. Its incredible realiability was one reason why the Navy loved it so much. It was also used by the Galactic Federation of Sentient Species Navy, Diplomatic Corps and Judicial Department. The Navy used it for transporting troops and supplies arownd the galaxy (and later made a new Delivery/Q (Q-ship) version), the Diplomatic Corps used the red-painted (the symbol of diplomatic immunity) Delivery/D (Diplomatic) version for transporting ambassadors arownd the galaxy, which had a more luxurious interior whilst the Judicial Department used them for patrolling space looking for smugglers and pirates or looking for law-breakers trying to escape the ground-based Judicial Department officers in star-ships, the Judicial Department used the Delivery/LE (Law Enforcement) version, which had two ION cannons to disable criminal ships. 123 years after first being released, in 1,000 ABY, the GFSS came up with a way of defending their transport fleets from N'Akkiarlian Heavy Fighters without the need to deploy capital ships which were badly needed to defend against the main N'Akkiarlian fleets to defend the transports. They decided to use Q-ships to pretend to be unarmed transports and then reveal their weapons to attack the enemy during an raid. They were some-what successful until the N'Akkiarlians started bringing capital ships in to defend against the Q-ships and starfighters. Despite the fact they were easy targets for heavier capital ships due to their lighter armament and their unarmed merchant heritage the GFSS continued to use them, after the war Navy Q-ships helped the Judicial Department in combating Pirates, pretending to be unarmed merchant ships to lure the Pirates in and then revealing their guns at the last possible minute.
