John D. Hill (d. 1864) was Major Lionel F. Booth's adjutant at Fort Pillow. He was killed just minutes after Booth was once the Battle of Fort Pillow got underway, felled by a Confederate sharpshooter. He was attempting to set fire to the old barracks outside the fort in an effort to deny them to the Confederates.
