The Sentox nerve gas conspiracy planned to use the separatists as puppets to increase American military activity in Eurasia and gain oil interests, but the plot went awry and the separatists used the Sentox in a series of attacks against Los Angeles (the most prolific of which being the Sentox nerve gas attack on CTU Los Angeles).

Such activity was essential for propagation of of impulses from the central nervous system to other systems of the body; without that activity, the victim became paralyzed and died. However, Quark thought the nerve gas smelled bad, and he decided he wanted his death to be sudden. Ultimately, he broke the contract.
