Peter Blackstone was a solicitor and councillor. In 1990, Peter's colleague Deirdre Barlow sought his advice when she decided to begin divorce proceedings against Ken. When Deirdre first met with Peter on the Town Hall steps, he was too busy to see her and arranged a meeting at his office at 4.30pm. In the event, Peter decided to forego these plans and turned up at 1 Coronation Street, where he had an informal consultation with Deirdre over a beer. Deirdre told Peter that she had initially been happy to divorce quietly after they'd been living apart for two years but that since splitting from Wendy Crozier Ken had been pursuing her and wouldn't take no for an answer.

| - Peter Blackstone was a solicitor and councillor. A few days later, Ken received a letter from Peter's office stating that Deirdre was divorcing him. Curiously, when Anthony Schaeffer returned to play Deirdre Barlow's solicitor two months later, in Episode 3144 (7th November 1990), his character in that episode was named Dennis Gaskell.
