The 1954-17 was a Grand National (now Sprint Cup) event held at Columbia Speedway on June 6, 1954. Curtis Turner took control of the event in a dominating fashion, winning his only race of the year by holding off Hershel McGriff by more than two laps. Eventual season champ Lee Petty finished 5th.
