Intellectual property protection is provided by the U.S. International Trade Commission, which investigates allegations of unfair import practices that commonly involve claims of patent or trademark infringement. One of the remedies available to the ITC is the exclusion order. Exclusion orders direct Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to stop certain goods from entering the United States while the order is in effect.
