At the time, the Cruiser was considered to be the company's top-selling vessel, and indeed, it saw great success, especially after the fall of Emperor Palpatine, at which time the restrictions invested upon Umbriel Research and Development by the Galactic Empire became moot, which allowed a very considerable portion of the ships to be produced and sold to dozens of buyers throughout the galaxy. This gave Umbriel Research and Development a considerable boost to their profits when the rest of the galaxy, as well as most other companies, were in turmoil. Ascribable to this, the Resolve-class was regarded with ardent feelings by many of the conglomerate's employees. When Grand Admiral Thrawn began his establishing his Empire of the Hand's military forces, the Grand Admiral examined multiple different classes of warships, choosing the Resolve-class firstly, and expanding from there. The Grand Admiral was in fact so impressed with the design that he chose not to take one of the class as his own personal flagship before switching to the Chimaera, rather than rely upon the larger, and admittedly more powerful, but slower and more obvious Conqueror I-class Star Destroyer. Among the Imperial Navy, the Resolve-class served with distinction, often escorting transport fleets, serving as main assault ships during invasions, and performing deep space patrol duties. The Resolve-class Cruiser was intended to fill a gap between a battleship and a transport, essentially becoming a hybrid of the two. This, combined with its relatively affordable cost, also found the ship in the hands of a surprisingly varied number of owners across space; from authentic militaries and security forces, to mercenaries and criminal empire, the Resolve was a common enough sight that most beings knew the class intimately.
