He was Secretary of State for Obama's second term. He served in the Vietnam war. He also pointed out that uneducated Americans are the ones who typically "get stuck in Iraq". Had only poor votes been counted Kerry would have won 40 states. Had only rich votes been counted he would have won only 4 states. This shows who supported Dubya. He is a Vietnam veteran, and was a spokesman for Vietnam Veterans Against the War when he returned home from service. Before entering the Senate, he served as a District Attorney and Lieutenant Governor of Massachusetts under Michael Dukakis, who would also become a future Democratic Presidential nominee.

- A lot of people put a lot of effort into the Kerry campaign. Kerry got more help and support than most put into any sort of "service" oriented activity in the past. Kerry workers were discouraged to loose after all that work, especially with how badly the Democrats lost. Even those with rather jaded views of elections and the not very partisan citizens can be a bit disappointed.
