The Destruction of Ryloth happened when a Darkness fleet led by Krensus Adalar and Rannek launched an attack on the unsuspecting planet with an overwhelming fleet. The five frigates defending the planet were quickly destroyed and a landing party was sent to the surface. After a short series of skirmishes in which the Darkness troops led personally by Rannek tried to capture slaves, they pulled back and evacuated the planet. Once evacuated, Krensus ordered a bombardment on the habitable band of the planet near the equator. No standing structure survived and most of the population was destroyed. Only a few Twi'leks that lived in the deepest tunnels survived the bombardment.

Despite minimal combat losses, Darkness did suffer a blow when Rannek was goaded into following Sylitius to the surface. There, Sylitius defeated and captured Rannek thus revealing much needed information about Darkness to the Order of Sovereignty.
