When Bahamut and Tiamat turned against one another they were still filled with tremendous power and caused a not undeserved amount of fear amongst the lesser races. But the lesser races were Bane's homies, and it was thus that he set about arranging for his exarch Hruggek to steal the powers of dragonkind and grant them to the most faithful of the goblin warriors. Most Purple Dragon Knights today are Kobolds drawn to the teachings of Bane yet still hearkening to their draconic origins. But the animalistic nature of the path also appeals greatly to Gnoll and Human Bane Guard.
