He attended the Maryland College of Art & Design before becoming a fully self-employed painter in the early 1980s. He paints based on movies, novels, and fantasy imagery, leaning toward pinup style art and semi-erotic art. His only Star Trek credit to date is the cover of Marvel Comics' "Star Trek: First Contact" adaptation in 1996 . This was his first contribution to the comics industry proper. He followed it up with cover art for several companies including Image Comics and Carnal Comics.
