The Duel between Merlin and Julius Borden occurred when Merlin found the Dragon Egg in the Tomb of Ashkanar. He only wanted the egg for power, yet Merlin himself wanted the dragon inside it to be free. After Merlin refused to give the egg to him, Borden demanded it, saying that the dragon belonged to him since he had pieced the Triskelion together. Shortly after that Borden striked him with his torch. Merlin threw him backwards which knocked him unconscious. Merlin then left as the Tomb was beginning to collapse. It is possible that Borden died (Aithusa).
