The Devolutionist Party was founded by dissidents members of various nationalists parties within the British Empire who chose to adopt a softer approach to their ambitions on local sovereignty. The main aim of the party is to abolish the lower house of the Imperial Parliament and replace it with local ones in the 3 constituent kingdoms. In Ireland, the devolutionists have been the target of attacks by the Fenian Brotherhood who see the formers as traitors to the cause of irish sovereignty. Small offshots of the party have emerged in recent years in the oversea territories with similar demands.
