An Entity of Type : owl:Thing, within Data Space : 134.155.108.49:8890 associated with source dataset(s)

The TIE Talon was unchanged from the original design, having two reversed TIE Interceptor wings for power. It was fairly fast, but not very manuverable. It had two laser cannons to help defend itself, but a light escort was usually preferred. The Talon's main armament was two high-yield baradium missiles, the most powerful non-nuclear warheads known. They are typically released at short range due to the small amount of propellant the missiles carry. Each missile had a vibroblade at its tip to improve penetration of enemy armor.

A squadron of Talons was more than enough to severely cripple or destroy a large warship. Typically they would get behind an enemy ship while the fighter escorts distracted enemies. Then they would launch their missiles to hit the engine banks and reactor.
